Tablet Coating Pan

WORKING

In pan coating, a stainless-steel pan is used. The tablets to be coated are placed in the pan. The speed of the pan is so adjusted that the tablets tumble in the pan. Hot air is blown in. The syrup is added in portions. After each addition of the syrup, dusting powder is sprinkled. The dusting powder does not allow tablets to stick together. The alternative addition of syrup and powder is repeated until a desired coat is built up. Towards end only warm syrup is added followed by cold syrup and the tablets are dried by blowing in cold air. This helps in obtaining a smooth surface.

CONSTRUCTION

The pan is often made of stainless steel due to its resistance to corrosion and its suitability for pharmaceutical use.
All joints are typically argon arc welded, and stainless steel parts are polished to ensure a smooth, clean finish, as required by pharmaceutical equipment standards. Mild steel (MS) parts are usually painted to provide a smooth finish.

AIR HANDLING UNIT

The Air Handling Unit will be double skin construction having SS 304 section frame and 50 mm thick "GLASS WOOL" insulated. The entire unit will be mounted on a heavy-duty MS Channel base frame cladded with SS 304 quality. Blower air is control through damper.

AUTOMATIC SPRAY GUN

BA-130 automatic spray gun has been designed by keeping the customer convenience & requirement in mind. Unmatched continuous application and ease of maintenance together gives the ultimate performance in automatic air atomizing spray finishing equipment.
The constant development, experience and technical forethought, which have established Bullows as leaders in the international field of spray finishing have produced an automatic spray gun which surpasses the best features of all other automatic spray guns.

AIR GUN STAND

This unit is commonly used for coating the tablets. This stand is fabricated on S.S. rod and balanced bottom weight. The spraying gun is assembled to the top of the unit on required length of the coating pan mouth. The spraying nozzle is provided with high accuracy of spraying in to the pan mouth. This unit is to be set on required degree for efficiency spraying of film. Flexible pipe will be S.S. 304 quality. The unit comes along with peristaltic pump.

PERISTALTIC PUMP

The peristaltic pump allows abrasive products (without chemical aggression) mainly liquid vitreous enamel to be carried to the application spray gun. The peristaltic pump ensures a product flow rate proportional to its rotation speed. The principle of the peristaltic pump system is three turning rollers which flatten the flexible hose. The assembly comprises two pumps in parallel (pump head and extension head) which feed a single spray gun. The product pulsation on leaving the nozzle is thus reduced and the range of flow rates can be increased if necessary, there is no need to feed the pump with a pressurized or other circulating product.

KEY ADVANTAGE

  • Pan : The semi-ellipsoidal pan is usually made of stainless steel and has a circular opening for loading and unloading the tablets.
  • Drive Assembly : An electric motor, often with a gearbox, is used to rotate the pan at adjustable speeds.
  • Coating Solution System : This system includes spray nozzles that are positioned within the pan to apply the coating solution evenly.
  • Hot Air Blower : Some coating pans are equipped with a hot air blower to dry the coating solution as it's applied.
  • Control Panel : A control panel allows the operator to adjust the pan speed, airflow, and other parameters to optimize the coating process
  • Mounting : The pan is mounted on a stand with a gearbox and motor, typically within a sturdy frame.
