Vacuum Nutch Filte

WORKING PRINCIPAL

The Nutsche Filter is the industrial version of the well known laboratory scale Buchner Funnel except that it is designed to operate under either on vacuum or pressure. In their modern version they were developed in the early 80's and the majority operates, usually under pressure, in batch oriented industries such as fine chemicals, dyes, pharmaceutics and pesticides.
Present day Nutsche Filters are constructed to perform a multitude of tasks including reaction, filtration, cake washing and thermal drying on a single unit. As such these are very sophisticated machines with tight process control on parameters such as pressure, temperature and pH. Nutsche Filters are well suited for handling flammable, toxic, corrosive and odor-noxious materials since they are autoclaved and designed for use in hazardous and ex-proof environments when extremely safe operation is required.
Nutsche Filters are available in almost any size with the larger machines for a slurry filling batch of 25 m3 and a cake volume of 10 m3. Such filters have a filtration area of 15 m2 and are suitable for fast filtering slurries that produce readily 0.5 m thick cakes.
A vacuum Nutsche filter in india, like those from Jaguar design and engineering, works by using a vacuum to draw liquid through a filter cake, separating solids from liquids in a closed vessel. The process typically involves filling the vessel with a slurry, applying a vacuum to draw the liquid through a filter cloth, and then optionally washing the filter cake. The filter cake can be discharged by breaking it up and rotating an agitator to scrape it out.

CONSTRUCTION AND FUNCTION

» The nutchfilter is A dished or cylindrical vessel made of corrosion-resistant materials like stainless steel or Hastelloy, designed to withstand pressure or vacuum.
» A plate at the bottom of the vessel that supports the filter medium (e.g., cloth, metal screen) and allows liquid to pass through.
» A rotating mechanism to mix the slurry and ensure uniform distribution, preventing clogging and improving filtration.
» Systems for controlling the temperature of the slurry, which can be important for drying and washing processes.
» Heat and vacuum drying capabilities are often integrated into PNF systems to remove residual moisture from the cake.
» A valve for removing the solid cake after filtration, which can be either dry or in slurried form.

SLURRY INTRODUCTION AND FILTRATION

» The slurry (containing solids and liquid) is introduced into the sealed Nutsche filter vessel.
» A filter medium, such as a cloth or sintered plate, is positioned at the bottom of the vessel.
» A vacuum is applied, forcing the liquid through the filter medium and separating it from the solids.

WASHING AND DRYING (OPTIONAL)

» Some Nutsche filters include washing capabilities, where the filter cake can be washed with a solvent to remove impurities.
» Agitation may be used to ensure thorough washing.
» Drying can also be integrated into the process, where heat is applied to the vessel to evaporate any remaining liquid from the filter cake.

DISCHARGE

» Once the filtration, washing, and drying processes are complete, the filter cake can be discharged from the vessel.
» This often involves breaking up the cake with an agitator and then rotating the agitator to scrape the cake out.

CONTINUOUS OPERATION (Optional)

SUGAR PREPRATION :
» Some Nutsche filters, like the Agitated Nutsche Filter Dryer (ANFD), can perform continuous filtration, washing, and drying in the same vessel.
» This allows for a more streamlined and efficient process.

KEY FEATURES AND BENEFITS

Vacuum-assisted Filtration : The vacuum creates a strong suction, leading to efficient filtration and faster processing times.

Closed Vessel : The closed nature of the Nutsche filter minimizes contamination and ensures safe handling of hazardous materials.

Agitation : Agitation during filtration and washing helps to prevent clogging, ensure even distribution, and enhance washing effectiveness.

Washing Capabilities : Washing can remove impurities from the filter cake, leading to higher purity products.

Drying Capabilities : Drying allows for the production of dry filter cake, eliminating the need for separate drying equipment.

CIP Function : Many Nutsche filters are equipped with Clean-In-Place (CIP) systems, which simplify cleaning and maintenance.

Safety Features : Safety features, such as over-pressure and over-temperature protection, ensure safe operation.
